Sonepar USA’s Eoff Electric Supply Wins Energy Savings Award For Third Straight Year

Portland , OR, February 11, 2008 - Eoff Electric, a subsidiary of Sonepar USA, announced it is the winner of the Outstanding Contributions Award from The Energy Trust of Oregon. The annual award is presented to an electrical distributor who exhibits the industry’s greatest overall amount to energy savings. This is the third year in a row that Eoff Electric Supply has brought home the top honor.

Gil Amestoy , Energy Management Specialist for Eoff Electric, accepted the award on behalf of his colleagues and peers. Gil has been a member of the Eoff Electric team for over twelve years, and has accepted all three awards.

"It’s an honor to work with a great team of experts, and such dedicated customers, who are all so committed to Energy Savings,” stated Amestoy. “I am humbled by the amazing enthusiasm shown by everyone involved in these projects, as we have been able to achieve such remarkable results in energy savings.”

Amestoy has headed up a number of projects aimed at cutting energy costs throughout various industries. He has achieved significant energy savings in a number of warehouse facilities, manufacturing facilities, and office spaces. Recently, Gil removed all 400 & 1000 watt metal halides from a manufacturing facility, replacing them with a 4 lamp & 6 lamp T5/HO system. The project was a resounding success, resulting in close to $80,000 in yearly cost savings for the facility.

"Commitment and hard work have been instrumental in executing these strategic energy savings projects, which have accumulated a total savings of over 7,000,000 KWH in the last 3 years,” said Mike Lindner, Director of Industrial Automation and Energy Management. “Gil’s enthusiasm for his work is contagious to our customers, which ultimately translates into additional energy savings for everyone involved.”
